Map of Central Chile
The Central Chile is home to a majority of the Chilean population and includes the three largest metropolitan areas: Santiago (national capital), Valparaíso, and Concepción. The topography of Central Chile includes a coastal range of mountains running parallel to the Andes. The southern portion of the region contains a mixture of some excellent agricultural lands, many of which were covered originally with old-growth forests.
