The State of Maine is in northern New England in the United States. It is bordered by the Canadian provinces of Québec on the northwest and New Brunswick on the northeast. The U.S. State of New Hampshire is to the southwest. Maine entered the Union in 1820, separated from Massachusetts. The capital is Augusta and the largest city is Portland.
