South
and Central Africa include countries from Cameroon and the Central African
Republic in the north to South Africa in the south. The region includes some of
the continent’s top oil and gas producers, as well as a robust mining sector. It
is home to the Great Lakes of Africa and a number of river systems, like the
Zambezi River. Nevertheless, the region continues to struggle with inequality,
crime and poverty.
